Juliette "Jules" Paxton was born and raised in west London and has forever been a football fan. She has struggled with her mother’s misplaced expectations that teenage girls should be focused on dating with a view to marriage while all Jules wanted to do was play football and this led to her mother deciding that because of this, her daughter must be a lesbian. Jules’ father, on the other hand, highly encouraged her love for football and was more than thrilled his daughter wasn’t interested in dating.

In her late teens, she played for the women’s amateur football team, Hounslow Harriers and was a big fan of Manchester United, and David Beckham, which went without saying as far as she was concerned. She was a tom boy and lived for sports. Because of this, her life was mostly simple until she met Jess Bhamra one day in the park during football practice. Jess was amidst a struggle with her own family about what was expected of her, her parents disapproving of her wish to play football. Jules and Jess became close friends when Jules encouraged Jess to play and invited her to join the club.

Despite some rocky periods in their friendship (including falling for the same boy… the coach of their team), the girls forged a very close friendship and during the finals of their football season were spotted by an American scout who offered them both a place on the women’s soccer team at Santa Clara University in America. They both left London for America and went through university together, remaining friends.

[POST MOVIE] Jules has now returned to England after being recruited by the women’s division of Liverpool FC in the English Premier League. She is about to start her professional football career and couldn’t be more over the moon at her sporting achievements.

personality

Jules is a tom boy through and through. She likes sports, likes getting sweaty and dirty and isn’t backwards in coming forward to tell it like it is. In fact, her femininity eludes her so much that her own mother thought she was lesbian, much to Jules’ frustration. She’s just a girl who loves sport, end of story.

She is passionate about football and will scream her arse off as a supporter of her favourite teams. She hails from west London and comes across as blunt and sometimes crass but really she is just laid back and straight to the line with most things in her life. She has a devious sense of humour and will give you a mouthful if you piss her off, though despite all that she is friendly and chatty, getting along with most people, especially those who share her passion for sport.
